INITIATIVES

We focus on advancing People of Color throughout the industry — by coordinating educational, internship, and apprenticeship opportunities to those starting their journey in Distilled Spirits, supporting professionals through every level of the corporate organizational chart and by offering resources to minority-owned businesses. We put quality vendors and suppliers in touch with top talent and foster relationships between like-minded organizations.

Diversity Distilled is positioned to help companies establish and/or strengthen their Diversity & Inclusion programs to meet the unique challenges of the new decade. We do this by supporting three pillars within each organization: recruitment, retention and promotion.

By strengthening these pillars, we build pipelines that bolster both our communities and the brand’s bottom line.

RECRUITMENT

We envision a Spirits Industry that offers fair and equitable opportunities to peoples of all backgrounds.

To those beginning their career in the alcohol industry, access to educational opportunities previously available only to populations of means levels the playing field and increases access.

By partnering with organizations to train bartenders, working with colleges and universities to build educational programs geared to the industry, consulting with brands to hone their recruitment efforts, hosting job fairs to fill needed positions, building outreach into communities of color and providing innovative hiring solutions to address foundational problems, we help brands incorporate diverse candidates throughout every level of their hiring process.

RETENTION

Diversity Distilled is an important partner that helps Human Resource managers maintain and advance a pool of corporate talent that prepares the entire organization for success. We offer a true measurement of Employee Engagement efforts, and help build diverse engagement into new or existing programs.

In order to ensure a healthy, happy and productive workplace, it is important to promote an atmosphere where each employee can be their true and authentic self. For example, our Employee Resource Group programs bring together individuals within the workplace to provide support, career development and personal growth.

Whatever toolkit your team decides upon, we will consult with your Human Resources department and empower them to feel confident implementing their D&I strategies. We help build buy-in from business units throughout the organization — from leadership to the middle management level to rank and file membership. Our experts offer guidance, tools, and strategies to help your organization build and maintain a winning team built for success.

Our retention strategies support talent pipelines within organizations, allowing them to maintain a deep pool of diverse talent. We build on that work by identifying prospects for C-suite readiness programs and ensuring candidates are prepared to make key decisions around marketing, sales strategy, budgeting, hiring, and other mission-critical areas.

PROMOTION

It is important for companies of all sizes to reflect the communities they serve. In fact, studies show[1] companies that include a diverse collective of decision makers are more profitable than those whose leadership reflect a more narrow background.

Tailored mentorship strategies pair seasoned industry veterans with young professionals to help prepare them to find career pathways.

At Diversity Distilled, our goal is to advance promising talent into key positions of leadership. By promoting diversity in the boardroom, we ensure key leadership decisions being made in the corporate suite reflect a diversity of voices, backgrounds, and experiences.

It is important for employees to feel safe and included in their workplace, and to have faith in their colleagues. Research reflects[2] employees who feel comfortable and safe being their true and authentic selves in the workplace are more likely to be engaged, put forth innovative ideas, and ask for promotion. In order to express those ideas, employees must first feel free from retribution or punishment from managers. Assessing the safety of diverse employees within the company is paramount to success of implementing any D&I strategy.
